FEINDEF21, the second edition of the International Security and Defense Fair organized by FEINDEF Foundation, has been officially presented in a ceremony presided by the Secretary of State for Defense, Ms. Esperanza Casteleiro Llamazares, and the President of FEINDEF Foundation, Mr. Julián García Vargas. The event was also attended by Mr. Ricardo Dominguez, the new president of Navantia in substitution of Belén Gualda, who made his first statements as head of the Spanish public company.

FEINDEF21 will be a major boost for economic and technological development that aims to expand the accessibility of the sector to the European defense supply chain in order to achieve the goals set out in the 2030 Agenda. These are fundamental elements for the early economic recuperation of Spain and the positioning of the Spain Brand as a benchmark in the industrial sector.

Mr. Julián García Vargas, President of the FEINDEF FOUNDATION, expressed his pride "to lead a private, non-profit institution, whose mission is to promote awareness of issues related to Security and Defense. Another of the Foundation's objectives is to promote a modern image of the Defense Industry as a key sector, which generates quality jobs in Spain, and develops an important R&D&I work, standing out for its cutting-edge technology. Our work also includes supporting the internationalization of this industry, with a focus on the European Defense Industrial Development Plan, emphasizing its continuous growth, competitiveness, reliability and prestige".

Ms. Esperanza Casteleiro Llamazares, Secretary of State for Defense, added: : "Feindef will be the showcase for th Spanish defense in such a way that in this fair a series of activities will be carried out that in the end are an opportunity and I want to emphasize that to say that it is an opportunity that is given to us for after this crisis, after this pandemic of all that we have suffered in this year, and this year of the recovery that we have to carry out, we have talked about funds and now we are going to talk about what we can contribute with this fair and it will also be on our part the effort that we put in that this improvement this solution is positive and favors the industry of the defense of the security of Spain".

For his part, in his first public speech as President of Navantia, Mr. Ricardo Domínguez García-Baquero, President of Navantia, commented: "For Navantia, as a strategic company for national defense due to its international character, it is an honor to participate in this event, which will be a good showcase to show our latest developments, to promote contacts both at national and international level and to approach collaborating companies in the sector".

FEINDEF21 is expecting the attendance of more than 20,000 professionals, who will meet in the 31,000 square meters of exhibition space designed for the exchange of information and advice on needs and solutions provided by the industry.

The plan of activities to be developed seeks to reaffirm this event as the most important defense and security event held in Spain, through the creation of a space in which new networking opportunities are generated between exhibitors and international delegations, national authorities and visitors in general.

The first edition of FEINDEF was successfully held from May 29-31, 2019. The fair gathered around 12,800 visitors and counted with the participation of more than 150 companies in a space of 14,000 square meters.

In this second edition to be held on November 3, 4 and 5 in Pavilions 8 and 10 of Ifema, the fair will be spread over 30,000 square meters complying at all times with all the sanitary measures required thanks to the BSafe Technological Plan of Metalia Group to ensure the safety of all participants.
