FEINDEF exceeds its expectations for the first edition
The Chief of Defence Staff and the highest authorities of the Ministry of Defence and Industry, the EDA and the CNI will play an important role in FEINDEF.
Delegations from 23 countries have confirmed their attendance at the first International Defence and Security Exhibition (FEINDEF). During the 29th, 30th and 31st of May, the main commanders of the Armed Forces of the five continents will be able to see the main novelties of the European industry of the sector and attend its forums and conferences.
The International Defence and Security Exhibition (FEINDEF, its spanish acronym) will hold a Women's Forum as part of its activities, in addition to the initiatives that in recent years have been promoting the participation of women in technological and scientific sectors. The Forum was created with the aim of sharing experiences, exchanging opinions, analysing trends, discovering new talents and with the objective of generating a space for visibility and reflection on women's leadership in peace processes.
The International Defence and Security Exhibition will include, among its agenda of activities, a forum related to the employment of professionals who end their period of service in the Armed Forces. The Employment Forum is directed both at "Special Availability Reservists" (RED), armed forces personnel who, at the age of 45, end their contractual relationship with the Armed Forces, and at the heads of Human Resources (HR) of firms. It will be a practical forum, thereby informing companies about the advantages of hiring professionals in this situation and informing reservists about the options available to them after leaving the Armed Forces.
Illustrator José Manuel Esteban, a very well-known cartoonist in the Spanish publishing world thanks to his comic strips, has agreed to collaborate with the organisation of the International Defence and Security Exhibition (FEINDEF) by producing a series of comic strips that provide a fresh and informal look at the often invisible presence of the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Bodies in our daily lives.
Emergencies will play a leading role at the International Defence and Security Exhibition (FEINDEF), which will include the presence of the main players involved in managing and intervening in these scenarios in Spain. The Military Emergencies Unit (UME), Civil Protection and Madrid 112 have already confirmed their cooperation at the trade fair.
To the Defence & Security innovation Brokerage (DSiB) has convoked Public Research Organisations (PRO), entrepreneurs, industry and end users, in order to promote the exchange of ideas in the sector. Up to 40 participants will be selected to present their technological projects to specialists from the academic world, from the Armed Forces and from national and international companies at a brokerage in 3x3 format.
The Spanish Royal Family has accepted the honorary presidency of the Exhibition and, after the support of the Ministry of Defence, the ministries of Home Affairs, Industry, Trade and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport have joined.

FEINDEF will include, in parallel to the exhibition area, an ambitious programme for raising awareness of the Defence and Security Industry in society by using forums and round tables addressing topics such as the capability for creating employment, the application of defence technologies in the civilian sphere, entrepreneurship and innovation or the inclusion of women in the sector
