The Spanish Air and Space Force provides Spain’s Security and Defence with the necessary means and personnel to ensure the free and secure use of air and space 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In addition, the Spanish Air and Space Force provides the Chief of Defence with the aerospace capabilities required by the Joint Force within the national territory and during operations abroad, in order to fulfil Spain's commitments with its partners and allies in the UN, NATO and the EU. Likewise, the Aerospace Force also contributes to other government services by providing security from the air and space in a wide variety of missions, both in peacetime and in times of emergency or crisis.

In order to carry out all the tasks assigned, the Spanish Air and Space Force relies on its airmen, military and civilian personnel, trained in values and technically prepared to use the means and material resources provided.

The systems operated by the Spanish Air and Space Force are based on cutting-edge technology that requires continuous development and renewal, thus strengthening the national aerospace industry to maintain a 21st century Aerospace Force at the service of the Spanish society.
