Getafe City Council deploys its strategy for economic promotion and industrial development through the Local Development Agency, Getafe Initiatives (GISA). Getafe Initiatives is responsible for supporting the creation of new companies, consolidating and encouraging the development of existing ones, as well as improving the socio-economic context of the city and its promotion.

One of the main objectives is to position the business and industrial environment of the municipality at the forefront of technical and innovative advances. That is why GISA develops programs to facilitate the development of existing companies in the municipality and generates the necessary synergies to attract new investments and projects related to the most innovative and transformative industries.

In Getafe there are 9 industrial development areas where companies that are benchmarks in the aerospace and military sector are located, close to two major strategic military sites, the Getafe Air Base and the ACAR.
