CENTRO NACIONAL DE INTELIGENCIA - CENTRO CRIPTOLÓGICO NACIONAL / OFICINA NACIONAL DE SEGURIDAD
The Centro Nacional de Inteligencia (CNI) is the public institution responsible for providing the president of the Government and the Government of Spain with information, analyses, studies or proposals that allow for the prevention and avoidance of any danger, threat or aggression against the independence or territorial integrity of Spain, its national interests and the stability of its institutions and the rule of law.
The National Security Office (ONS in its Spanish acronym) is the working office of the CNI's Secretary of State Director in her role as Delegated Authority for the Security of Classified Information generated by NATO, the EU and the European Space Agency. Established in 1983, the ONS is responsible for the protection of Classified Information by granting clearances to individuals, companies and entities, and by accrediting ICT systems that handle such information. Furthermore, the ONS represents Spain on behalf of the Delegated Authority, in the Security Committees for Classified Information in NATO, the EU and ESA, and for international classified programmes.
The National Cryptologic Centre (CCN) is an organization, assigned to the National Intelligence Centre (CNI), responsible for ensuring the security of information and communication technologies in different public administration entities. It´s mission is to contribute to the improvement of Spanish cybersecurity as the national alert and response center that helps public sector to face new cyberthreats.
